課程概述 |
The course will include lectures on the history, importance, challenges, recent development, concepts and principles, practice and social, economic and legal aspects of conservation biology to provide students with the basic knowledge of conservation biology, and use case studies, mock public hearing, group discussion, project report to promote students’ interest, understanding and appreciation to the complexity of conservation issues.
Evaluation: Students will be evaluated based on grading of one midterm, one final, individual report, case study report, project report and performance in public hearing and discussion. |
課程目標 |
Students will demonstrate an understanding of the principles of conservation biology, the major approaches to conservation, an appreciation of the social, political, and economic factors affecting conservation. Students will develop critical thinking skills in evaluating conservation biology issues and in collating many ideas to develop cohesive, evidence based decisions. |
